I played some Toontown. I tried playing on both Test and Open but after a while I decided to reboot both computers (Toontown has memory leak problems). When I did that, my backup computer decided it couldn't run Toontown anymore. At least, not the Test version of the game. They're messing around with Directx 9 on Test and so when I tried to run Toontown Test on my backup computer it crashed and told me that my system didn't meet the minimum system requirements. Which is a joke. It worked fined before, and my drivers and Directx are up to date as of last week.

I read about half of an Oz book. I ripped all of my U2 cds to my big hard drive of digital music. I have just about everything U2 has done, including four or five cd singles and God help me, Zooropa. I'm not sure why I have that. But at least I don't own Pop, and never will.

I went out. I visited my comic shop and picked up Usagi Yojimbo (yay) and Alien Nine volume 4 (although they don't call it volume 4, they give it some other name without a number. But it's number 4). I finally remembered to return Gabriel's copies of Legend of the Twelve Kingdoms dvds #2 and #3, which I've only had for about three months.

I hit Half Price Books. Got the Matrix dvd for $9.98. Got a book that is the first volume of a fantasy series of which I already have the 2nd volume. Got some cds... Weird Al Yankovic, John Lee Hooker. I got a cd of the original radio broadcast of War of the Worlds for Tom, and also a cd of Golden Bough's Boatman's Daughter. This cd actually contains most of Boatman's Daughter and most of Flight of Fantasy, two of their best cds... I already had it but it's so good and so hard to find that I had to buy it again when I saw it, and give it to Tom.

I was in a mood to buy stuff for other people because I also grabbed two cds from the $3 bin that I thought Sky needed to own. I think he has copies of both, but now he can have originals of both... God Bless the Go Go's, and Chatterbox, an industrial type of band that I think he liked.

I stopped at Kiku's for chicken curry rice to go. I ate about 2/3rds of it at home, then accidentally spilled the rest of it onto the carpet. This made me very sad... Kiku's chicken curry rice should never be wasted like that.

I read some more and then tried to play a little more Toontown, but discovered that now Toontown Test won't run on my main gaming computer either. It also crashes and tells me that I don't meet the minimum system requirements. Laff. Okay, whatever, that's Test Servers for you.

So I played on Open for a little while then went back to reading.

Another thing from this week... two days ago I finally got a cd that I'd ordered in early December and then again more than two weeks ago. The first time it never came. I sent e-mails to the company that I ordered it from, and they never responded. I gave them a nasty review... I guess that's my only recourse. I've had problems with people being slow before, but never anyone who absolutely refused to respond or resolve the problem in any way. And they apparently got a lot of good reviews from other people...

So I ordered it again and it took more than two weeks to come. I was begining to worry that I was being ripped off yet again. But it arrived, and it's interesting... The Quicksilver Meat Dream by I Mother Earth, their fourth. I need to copy that for Sky I think, and probably their third cd as well, if I haven't already. Also the two cds by the Shins.

Actually I'm glad I thought about this. I went back to Amazon and checked out this particular seller... they get good marks 96% of the time and negative reviews 3% of the time, but all of those negative reviews consist of A) Didn't get the product, B) Got the wrong product or a defective product, and C) The seller would not respond to e-mails and/or would not contact customers even for refunds or exchanges when products were sent back. So basically if something goes wrong they don't care one bit.

The good news is you can file a claim against them and get your money back through Amazon. You have to wait 30 days after the purchase, and then you have a 30 day window to do it in. I ordered from them on December 10 so I still had a couple of days left to file... and I did so. From what I read in comments for this seller, others have also filed against him. Maybe if enough of those 3% of dissatisfied customers file, Amazon will take notice of the guy and dump him.
