Fear Is The Mindkiller
Jan. 3rd, 2005 02:47 pm"Being attacked by wild animals in a primitive sporting arena filled with stone-throwing wild natives who place bets on your life under the burning heat of a thousand suns is a harsh mistress."
That's not an exact quote, but an approximation from my momory of my favorite "fact" card from Captain Park's Imaginary Polar Expedition, one of the Cheapass Games we played on New Year's Eve.
I've discovered via Google search that "Fear Is The Mind Killer" apparently comes from Frank Herbert's Dune, and is also the name of a remix cd by Fear Factory.

Happy Birthday Berblang!
I went over to Gene and Mike's last evening. I ate chili made with blackeyed peas while mike looked at my "Art of Discworld" book, and we watched the animated film Tokyo Grandfathers, which was very entertaining. Then I came home and played more mahjongg with tile sets that I designed myself, and when I say "designed myself" I mean I imported animated art that I did not draw myself, and then imagined that this was a huge act of creativity on my part.
