May. 7th, 2005 09:08 pmOne of the songs on Tori Amos's new cd is "Martha's Foolish Ginger". I've had that song stuck in my head most of the week. Not that it's one of my favorite songs on the cd... favorite songs usually aren't the ones that get stuck in your head. Anyway, my mind keeps changing the chorus to "Martha's Foolish Vineyard", in part probably because I've grown very fond of the Martha's Vineyard salad that you can get at Arby's. You should try it... greens with almonds, apples, dried cranberries, chicken, and a rasberry vinegrette dressing. ^_^ So anyway, I keep hearing this song, with the chorus "Martha's Foolish Vineyard", and then I think of Martha Stewart. I should call it "Martha Stewart's Foolish Living Ginger Vineyard".
And when that song isn't stuck in my head, then it's "The Power of Orange Knickers". Also not one of my favorite songs, although really all of the songs on this cd are good. In fact, I just got back from Silver Platters where I bought my own copy. I also bought the latest from Green Day and Queens of the Stone Age.
Other things I did today: went and got my car's oil changed. Bought two 512 memory sticks for my 2nd gaming computer, now both of my gaming machines have 1.5gig memory. Things run much better! ^_^ I also bought a Linksys router. I haven't even tried to fix my Netgear router but I just decided that I've been dealing with a crappy router for five months and I'm absolutely sick of it, and for less than $70 I can have a router that actually works, so why not do it?
Tom and I went to Uwajamaya where we failed to find any manga or anime to buy (gasp!). I picked up some snacky stuff -- they do wafer cookies in multiple yummy flavors like melon and orange and honeydew and they're .99 per package, how can you go wrong? I got some orange flavored chocolate truffle bars (Seattle Chocolates) which I can't find elsewhere (the orange flavors anyway). We ate dinner in their food court, I had red curry chicken with basil chicken and rice and phad thai, and a watermelon smoothie/bubble tea thingy. Very yummy! I was thinking that I should have picked up a couple of the vietnamese sandwiches from the deli (they're only about $2.29 and very yummy, and I can toss them in the fridge and take them to work). But I didn't want to stand in line again. And then... we ran across some Blue Diamond Smokehouse almonds. I mean, big deal right? I love them but I can buy them anywhere. But these... they had four new flavors. FOUR! They had "smokehouse with jalapeno". Mmmmm. They had "lime and chili". Yum! And they had "wasabi and soy sauce". YUUUUM! The fourth one that I didn't pick up also sounded good, "maui onion and..." er... something I forget exactly what. But basically, all-new yummy smokehouse almond flavors that I had to buy, so I went ahead and grabbed my sandwiches too and went through the line again.
^_^
