miko2: Ranma disguised as a schoolgirl to fool Ryoga (evil thoughs)

A few weeks ago after I picked up the greatest hits cd of Crosby Stills and Nash I assembled a cd of similar harmonic folk rock. I took my favorite CSN songs, added in California Dreaming and my favorite Indigo Girls songs, a few favorite Simon & Garfunkel tunes, and then filled it out with whatever else I could think of. Some of that fit -- Sister Golden Hair from America, for example, and some songs from the very harmonic Terry Taylor-led Lost Dogs. Other things didn't work well. I tried to include "Summerland" by King's X, but while the harmonies are there, it's not folk music. It didn't fit. And my cd was heavy on extra CSN, Indigo Girls, and America tunes, some of which I wasn't all that enamoured with.

Later it occured to me that what I was really missing was "Love The One You're With" by Stephen Stills. I ordered that cd, and also Neil Young's Harvest cd because I also thought I should include his "Heart of Gold". That song doesn't have a lot of harmony but otherwise it fit in perfectly with the CSN/Indigo Girls folk vibe.

There are two backup singers on "Heart of Gold": Linda Rhondstadt, and James Taylor. This made me think that actually, James Taylor's "Fire and Rain" might also fit in pretty well on my cd. Not a lot of harmony in that song either, but it's from the same era and has the same folk sound, and it's certainly the one James Taylor song that I really really like, I already had that cd. ^_^

Finally as I was scanning my cd shelf for something else, I happened to see The Thorns cd. I'd forgotten about them. This was a side project group of Matthew Sweet, Shawn Mullins, and Pete Droge, and it was very much meant to be a CSN style group, folk rock with great harmonies. Perfect for what I was assembling. ^_^

I think my second take at a "folk rock harmony" cd is going to be just about perfect. ^_^

Except... I still want to work in "Wasted On The Way" by CSN... and maybe "End Of The Line" by The Travelling Wilburys... choices, choices...
