It's Friday!

...and all I got is a post from
dolphinchatter about how icy the roads were this morning. ^_^
Post, people! I need to be entertained before I head off to work!
Snow Storm Update: There was almost an inch of snow at our house when I left for work, but only slush on the roads. From what I could tell most of the roads were clear -- and they were, but there were tons of cars on the road full of people trying to get home ahead of the storm, and driving 20 miles an hour below the speed limit. Thus I was a half hour late for work, but Jim was happy to see me. Ellie didn't come at all. Around 9 pm it began snowing where I work in Auburn, and this time it covered the roads. Steph freaked out and begged to go home early. I stayed until midnight and when I left there was easily an inch or more of snow on the roads. I expected a long commute home, but only a couple of miles North, the snow turned to rain, and by the t ime I was in Renton the roads were clear and remained clear all the way home. Even at home there was very little snow left.
Anime I Have Watched: I watched Magic User's Club #4 last night. Much fun.
Ghost Story Update: I haven't worked on my ghost story at all. I need to get on that, that's one of my goals for this weekend.
Christmas Gift Update: I made a list of who I want to buy gifts for and what I've bought, and as usual I've discovered that I'm only about halfway to my goal, and I need to get working on finishing it SOON.
I'd write more but I have to get ready for work, and I want to hit the comic shop and Silverplatters on the way if I can (got to pick up The Mob and/or the new Battlelore cds!).
genebreshears likes to do a lot of links on Friday, and since I haven't seen his Friday post yet, here's a few random links that I mostly blatantly stole from the Nodwick web page (what, do I have time to collect cool links for you?). Please note that I don't have the usual Gene link to Deer Me or his latest essay (or do I?):
826 Seattle This is the only link I found myself (by cleverly listening to NPR). This is the Seattle chapter of a non-profit group dedicated to helping young people learn to write. It's located at about 80th and Greenwood, not far from my house, and they sound like a fun group. Their writing workshops are always hidden behind whimsical store fronts... for example, the original 826 in San Francisco had a "Pirate Supply Store" out front... and then there's a "secret" passage to the back where all of the writing tutorial stuff actually takes place. ^_^
