Closing in on Friday

Had a more relaxing weekend this time around. Not that marathon gaming sessions and mountain bike rides aren't fun, but those two events took up my entire weekend last week.
Writer's night was fun. Kristin read a good story. Chuck read more of his novel. (I want to say "I wish I could be that prolific" but truthfully I could be if I worked harder at it ^_^). Anyway, I actually enjoyed talking about stories afterwards more... talking to CD about the bands in the Tai-Pan universe and about my Vashti stories inspired me, and all the way home I was thinking of the story where Vashti first joins the Iktome, which I think I'm calling "Hair of the Throug That Bit Me".
So what did I do when I got home?
Nothing really. I checked what I had on that story and another, then eventually went to bed.
Sky had asked me to host a lan party on Sunday (asked me Saturday morning). It sounded like fun, so I bought some soda for the fridge. Unfortunately, only Sky, Viris and I were truly interested (Mike wanted to go bike riding, and besides, he didn't even own Dungeon Siege, the game we wanted to play). So Sky says, "Since everyone's bailing we might as well not do it." I guess three people does not a lan party make... oh well, too bad Tom wasn't around or we couldn't have roped Jeff into it (who also doesn't own the game of course).
Will have to try again some other time I think. ^_^
Soooo... Mike then wanted me to join his bike ride Sunday. I wasn't actually sure that I wanted to go, but he said he'd call me. But that didn't happen, which was all well and good because I was really due for a day of nothing.
So on Sunday, I did a lot of laundry. I made cornbread, which turned out pretty good. I watched too much television. I thought long and hard about one of my Tai-Pan stories, and eventually I got the first scene worked out. By Monday morning, I had three scenes.
This isn't one of my Vashti stories, though. This is my third story about Willamina Ramani, transport pilot for the Quantum Lady. This is a story I plotted on the last day of Conifur 2001, and then I asked Sky to create a character for my story idea, and he created Lady Sahvet, who has since appeared in the story Gene read last Saturday.
I don't know why I started working on this story instead of the Vashti story, but whatever, I haven't actually written anything on any Tai-Pan story in months, apart from my Sooper Sekrit sequel to the sequel to Mental Hopscotch.
Anyway, here it is almost 4 am, and I haven't written anything tonight. ^_^ That's a bad thing... I need to write something before I crash. This is not a long story, so if I work at it I can have it done in a week or so. ^_^
And then I can work on a Vashti story maybe, and rewrite some of my other Tai-Pan stories, and maybe have a few things to read for writer's night again. ^_^
Or I could go back to my weird anime fan fic that I was working on all last week... one never knows....
