Well now I'm pissed
Dec. 23rd, 2005 10:30 amAfter all the things I did to try and make Nero burn a cd last week, apparently I've broken the program. All I did was allow it to do a small update and then use Win Media to burn a cd, and now Nero fails to successfully burn any cd, although it says otherwise. I can see that it's not even doing the lead-in or lead-out when it gets to the end. I went to Nero's web site, and what I have -- Nero 5 -- isn't supported. So I guess I'm screwed.
I'm really tired of dealing with pissant programs that cost money (an upgrade to Nero 7 is only $80.00 :p ) and that still don't do all of the things I need. I was going to assemble a cd for my nephew but I guess I can't do it properly. Win Media will burn cds but won't allow me to do other things like adjust the volume of each track.
I tried to update Nero from an "oldversion" web site... it asked me to remove the old version first. Then when I went to install it wanted my serial number, but I have no friggin clue what that is, I can't find the disc that came with my computer five years ago. So I selected "demo" and it turns out since it's an old version, my "demo" has already expired. So now I'm completely screwed, I don't even have a copy of Nero on my computer that pretends to work. I am really, really pissed off.
*edit* Well I had a new cd of Nero that came with my new cd burner... I wasn't planning to install it over my old copy but since that copy vanished, I went ahead... first attempt, the install program froze up at the very end... second attempt, it apparently installed correctly, but when I try to run it it says that files are missing and I need to install it again.
Why do things like this always happen on a Friday afternoon before a major holiday when I don't have any time to solve the problem?
