I was looking forward to being lazy and watching the Seahawks on Jan 1st, last game of the season, and so when I woke up today I plopped down on the couch and turned the game on and prepared to vegitate.

A few minutes later Tom showed up and asked if I would spend the day helping him move the rest of his stuff. I said no. It wasn't very nice of me, but A) He could have had all of this other stuff moved on the day his parents were here with a u-haul and two moving guys, B) I had plans to watch the Seahawk game and then get some stuff done this afternoon, and C) He might have asked me ahead of time -- asking five minutes beforehand doesn't count.

Well anyway, I felt a bit guilty laying on the couch while he was busy packing, but oh well. The game wasn't all that great either.

On Saturday I had checked the free section of Craig's List, mostly to see if anyone was giving away couches just so I'd know if that was really a viable thing for me to attempt. But I came across an offer of free moving boxes. I called the number but they were already gone. Well, Sunday I checked again, and there were two more such offers. I called one and nobody answered, but the other number I called, I was told that the boxes were still there and I was the first person to call for them. They said that I had to take them all, and when I asked if they would fit into the back of a PT Cruiser they said yes.

So I drove over to... I think it was Madison Park? I forget, but it's on the far side of the Arboretum, down off 520 before you cross the lake, sort of thing. Basically I got lost going there but eventually found the place.

What I got was a bunch of assorted boxes of all shapes and sizes, not a set of standard moving boxes, but they includes a couple of wardrobe boxes which I guess is pretty cool. And free is a good price. They filled the entire back of my car, so that I couldn't see out the rear view mirror and had to check the side mirrors a lot, and was worried that I'd get pulled over on the way back. Mind you, the back windows of the cruiser are pretty dark, it probably wasn't that obvious that the back window was completely blocked.

It started really raining when I got back. I managed to back up the Cruiser to the garage and unload it okay. Now I feel like I'm more set to start packing and getting ready to move -- I went out afterwards and bought tape and markers, and Tom is going to lend me his tape gun.

I was worried that my bike wasn't in the garage, I thought maybe it had walked away, but it's just been moved to the laundry room. I should really put it back into the apartment just to be safe though, there's room for that now.

Tom got a load of stuff moved, but the rain convinced him to not do anymore for tonight. He's planning to finish up tomorrow. I don't think that includes his car, but I won't worry about that for now, he's still moving stuff out so I'm glad for that. We each went out and got dinner and then watched Serenity, and he's planning to crash on the couch so that he can take another load down in the morning.

Hmm. New Year's Resolutions.

I resolve to break all of my New Year's Resolutions, including this one. ^_^

I resolve to write every day. Maybe that just includes something in Livejournal, because frankly I haven't written anything else today. But then again, see resolution #1.

I resolve not to pick up any new online games this year. Second Life is it for now.

I probably had some other resolution ideas but I've forgotten them now. In general I resolve to get enough sleep, which I've been pretty good at over the last few months. I resolve to not eat hamburgers that often, which I've been good at over the last year or two, to the point where when I do eat one it often makes me feel sick afterwards. Not sick sick, just kinda greasy and weighed down, you know. Which is why I stopped eating them much to begin with.

I resolve to move as soon as I can afford it, to someplace South of Seattle proper, hopefully a 2-bedroom apartment of some kind. I resolve to let my friends know when I'll be moving (this, mind you, will not be a hard resolution to keep ^_^ ).

I resolve to buy the Firefly tv series on DVD. I mean, as long as we're making resolutions, I might as well put down something that I'm very likely to do as soon as I can afford to.

I resolve to pay off my credit cards -- two of the three are close to being paid off, and one of them I plan on getting rid of. You know that commercial for Capital One where they ask "What's in your wallet?" Well what's in my wallet is my Credit Union credit card that I've had for years, and for backup emergencies my Union Plus Mastercard. What's most emphatically NOT in my wallet is my Capital One credit card, for which those lying cheating two-faced bloodsucking vampires bleed me for nearly 20% interest, but which is now at a balance of less than $500 and will be gone very soon. FOREVER It would be gone already if I didn't have to worry about moving first. ^_^

Also I resolve to do laundry tomorrow. I had resolved to do it today, but I guess that resolution went unresolved.
