Feb. 19th, 2006 12:52 pmPlan for the day: I shoud probably go to Ikea and get the bookshelf I need. Other things that I want to get soon include a microphone headset for my computer (I have a very cheap one, don't think it works too well) and a microwave, and probably another piece of furniture for my stereo equipment, but the bookshelf is the only thing that I really need right this minute.
My friend Tisha came and hung out with me last night in SL, although she seemed bored. She talked with me a lot about City of Heroes/Villians which she's been playing lately. After I logged off she sent me a note about selling "the last of her land". Her land had been "group owned" which had allowed her and her friend Khaos to own a larger parcel of land by combining what they could each own together. Groups in SL require at least 3 people to remain in existence, so I and another friend were members of the group she and Khaos used to hold the land. Because of this, she noted that when the land sells, the money will go back to the members of the group -- I'll get 1/4 of the price.
She didn't say any more than that, or ask for the money to be returned to her, but I went to look and there's nothing on the land where she and Khaos had their house. It feels like she and Khaos must have had some sort of falling out, and/or she's decided to quit playing SL, or at least reduce her involvment.
This is important to me because my property is right next to hers. I moved there because I wanted to be near friends -- she and Khaos were the people I hung out with the most in SL at the time. I haven't really done much with them in a long while, and I mostly hang out in the island sim called Prometheus now. I'd considered whether I should just move my whole place to Prometheus and sell my old land. Now that I no longer have any friends as neighbors I guess I have more incentive to do exactly that.
