miko2I drove back to Frye's this afternoon and got a Kodacha vol 3 that actually works (well -- as well as the other ones work, it still siezes up in between each episode like all the others do, but it is easily prodded into playing again). I've watched some of Kodacha, and some more Azumanga Daioh.
It was not easy to go into Frye's and not buy anything. ^_^ But after all I spent some $45 or so there yesterday on my two dvds.
Speaking of Azumanga Daioh, I went looking for images from the series because I don't have any saved in my anime image files, and therefore don't have any Azumanga Daioh icons to play with. I came across this
Azumanga Daioh Crossover Pictures site, which is not in English but some of the pictures are quite funny -- Azumanga Mononoke, for example. ^_^
I should probably warn you, there's even a Fist Of The North Star / Azumanga Daioh crossover pic here. :O
Speaking of anime that I want to buy... Howl's Moving Castle is out March 7th. Tuesday. I get paid on the 7th. Tuesday.

Oh yeah, Whispers of the Heart is out too... and, hmm, I think also My Neighbor Totoro, which I already have on dvd but this will be a Disney-dub version I assume. For whatever reason, Disney has liked to release these movies 3 at a time. Last time around it was Nausicaa/The Cat Returns/Porco Rosso, and before that it was Spirited Away... and um... I forget... I think Castle In The Sky, and... I'm not sure. Kiki's Deliver Service? Princess Mononoke earlier than those right? And then somewhere in the last year they put out Pom Poko, but I don't know if they released anything else with that. My Neighbors The Yamadas maybe? (Checking Amazon, that would seem to be the case).
And they still haven't said if/when they plan to release Only Yesterday.
YEAH... just checked it, Disney is releasing a 2-disc version of Totoro on Tuesday, with an all new English dub. Not that the Troma version was all that bad, but Disney has been very good about how they dub these Studio Gibli movies, so theirs will probably be even better, and with extras on the 2nd disc. ^_^

Hmmmmm....
And then... since I was all interested in Kodacha again, I picked up the manga to reread it. I wanted to pick up the story where the dvd volume 4 ended... but I was quite surprised, 16 episodes and 4 dvds, and we aren't even to the end of volume 3 of the manga? The manga is 10 volumes long... I can't imagine that the dvd / tv series covers the whole manga.
Anyway in volume 4 of the manga they talk about Sana's birthday. It's... March 7th.
