Yesterday I vowed to go to bed early and get up early. I managed to keep the second part of the vow, but as for the first part, I stayed up as late as usual. I logged into Second Life with the intention of only visiting for a short while, but a visit with some friends lead to a fun trip into the stratosphere (launched instantly over 800,000 meters high), which lead to a lot of falling that got boring so I teleported back down to a music store, where my friend and I played around with various musical instruments and eventually bought a few.
At that point, as occasionally happens in the early hours of the morning, my internet service disappeared. I think this has only happened twice since I moved, but it's about a once-a-month occurance for me. I read for a while, checked again, then went to bed. I really should have gone to bed much earlier anyway.
I woke up at 8:01 AM, just a couple of minutes before my alarm was set to go off. I do that fairly often and chalk it up to my body getting used to when the alarm is supposed to go off, but in this case I'd set the alarm for more than 2 hours earlier than normal, and still woke up just before it went off. Anyway, I showered, got dressed, and drove down to Les Schwab, where I waited for over an hour while they repaired my two leaky tires. Then I drove up to Kent to deposite my paycheck. Along the way I decided to get a sausage mcmuffin sandwich at MacDonald's. The last time I tried this, It was just after noon and they weren't serving breakfast anymore. But surely 10:50 AM is early enough for breakfast, yes? My God, how could 10:50 AM NOT be considered early in the morning?
Well, suffice it to say, I will probably never be up early enough to ever buy an egg mcmuffin again.
But I felt fairly good at being up so early and getting things accomplished. When I got back to Auburn I bought lunch at Arby's, and then realized I had a full hour still before I was supposed to be at work. With nothing better to do, I came back home and typed this LJ entry. ^_^
