Apr. 17th, 2006 11:43 amI don't really have time to do a full con report for Saturday or Sunday. The short answer is: cons are fun in proportion to how many of my friends are there, and this year I got to see nearly all of my friends at some point and hang out with most of them. My friend from Alaska came down and fit in pretty well with the group, and had fun. I had fun.
Saturday I slept in -- I slept in nearly every day -- and spent most of the afternoon in the dealer's den and the art show with
pencil_rain. Until the Tai-Pan party and dinner afterwards, which took up much of the rest of the evening, and then several games of Give Me The Brain at the end of the night.
Sunday we got packed and out of the hotel, ate a late breakfast/lunch, and wasted the rest of the time in the dealer's den. Adam had things he wanted to buy before heading back. There were soooo many other things I'd intended to do -- hit some more panels, check out the SCA event. But one of the things I wanted to do was finish my picture/joke in
julesong's art book, so I bailed on the dealer's den early and found a corner in the hallway to sit and draw. Soon everyone else congregated around me, and we moved on to the lounge, where Adam hung out a few moments before he had to leave. I didn't even get to see what shirts and things he'd bought in the dealer's den, other than he gave me a celtic knotwork brass necklace thing (from the same place that Julie bought me an arrowhed necklace in brass and gave to me on Saturday).
That's the short report. I went home and fell asleep around 8:00 pm or so. I got up at 11:30 and stayed up for a few hours. I watched Monsters, Inc. and then went back to bed. Typically of how these things go, it was a whirlwind of activity for three days, and then back to boring normality. Sigh.
