It's funny how memory works.

I was going to post this in response to Kristin's journal, but I wrote too much. )

I drove up to Sears today. I wanted to look for rice cookers, although mostly I just want to convince myself that I can't get a better deal in a store than I can online.

Sears had 1 really cheap one, the Salton $19.95 one that comes highly unreccomended. They had a Cuisinart deluxe steamer that could make rice too.

I drove over to the Asian Grocery Store nearby. They didn't have any rice cookers, although they DID have an ice crusher/shaver. If only it was in the shape of a panda.

I was heading back home when I drove past the Seattle Restaurant Store. It's in the building on Aurora and about 148th that, years ago, was Sea Galley. I stopped in there -- fun place! If you like kitchen stuff anyway. ^_^ They had several of the Zojirushi rice cookers, including the 3 cup cheapie one ($49.00) and the 10 cup cheapie one, and another large deluxe one. They had some way up high that were not on display, including a Panasonic, but they all looked pretty large.

Anyway I think I know what I'm going to buy now.

It's snowing outside. Started out as rain, then hail, then slush, now really wet snow that isn't sticking anywhere yet, but it's getting colder.

I made my garbanzo bean salad last night, and I need to make my noodles now and head on over. I get to use one of my new pots for the first time. ^_^
