miko2: Ranma disguised as a schoolgirl to fool Ryoga (coonpin)
I think I won't write a long post that requires any research tonight. I want to write a scene or three before I go to bed.

Stopped at Jack-In-The-Box last night on the way home. Only two cars in front of me -- good! Took me over 15 minutes to get through the drive-in -- bad! The teller tossed an antenna ball into my package, I think by way of apologizing for the long delay, but did he ask me if I WANTED an antenna ball? No.

So does anyone want a free antenna ball?

Picked up comics today: Books of Magic, which I haven't been reading, Ah! My Goddess, and 2 graphic novels: Ah! My Goddess (new one) and Celestial Zone vol 18. Celestial Zone is a comic from Singapore, the author/artist is well-versed in Japanese manga styles and Chinese kung-fu epic storytelling. It's basically a bunch of unbelievably powerful good martial artists against a larger group of even more powerful evil martial artists. Lots of big, drawn-out fight scenes and weird mumbo-jumbo martial arts magic. The author is a fantastic artist though, everything is crips and beautiful-looking, and the story's entertaining. And if the concept of super-human kung-fu storytelling seems weird, just replace the words "martial arts" with "mutant powers". ^_^

I'm annoyed at Tripod. Actually I'm annoyed at all free web sites that use the model of closing down the site when too much bandwidth is used. I can understand, and yet, I can't. What's the point of letting someone put up a web page if nobody can go see it? Anyway, there's a web site there with lyrics to Skip James's blues songs, but it's linked from a lot of blues sites now and it's constantly unavailable because of bandwidth issues, which is really starting to annoy me.

Bonus Trivia Question: The disc sent to the stars on Voyager contained (among other things) some Beethoven, some Chuck Berry, and a track by one of the blues artists I mentioned yesterday. Anyone know who it was, and which track?

I was amused yesterday to hear how the Stanford Cardinals began their first-round NCAA tournament game.

They forgot to turn in their starting lineup, and were hit with 2 technical fouls, before the game even started. The other team made one of them, so when the teams met to jump for the ball (the start of the game), Stanford was already down 1-0.

How often does a team actually start a game already behind? In the world of sports hyperbole, I'm sure it's been SAID of many teams... but it's never literally true. ^_^
