I was listening to Richard Gephardt being interviewed the other day after announcing that he would step down as minority leader in the house, and they asked him if he felt the Democratic party was in danger of moving too far to the left, or if they needed to be concerned about staying in the center (as Frost, one of the canidates to replace him, had claimed). Anyway, his response was, "We don't need to move to the right, we don't need to move to the left, we don't need to move to the center, we just need to move forward."
Huh? Hmm. Well, okay, whatever. I guess after you've been a politician for a while, statements like that make perfect sense somehow.
No news on my car. Played EQ all morning, didn't write. My landlords are really cool, letting me use their spare car. Chuck said they'd be gone all weekend so I can use it whenever I need to. I've been looking at used cars, seems I can get a used Saturn or something similar for no more than I paid for this one years ago. I bought this in 1995 I think, it's a 93 and had only 11k miles on it, and I paid a little over 12,000 for it. I see a lot of Saturns available for less than that, from ones that are only 2 or 3 years old and don't have too many miles, to ones that are from 1995 to 1997 that are priced as low as 5 or 6k. I think if I have to buy a new car, I want a Saturn that's fairly new, within the last five years new, and not too many miles. But I'll have to wait first to see if mine turns up by next week.
Anyway, I need to get some sleep.
