Jeff and Jeri Lynn are cool
Dec. 11th, 2002 11:13 pmWell all my friends are cool, Gene and others have pointed this out many times, but Jeff has been very gracious with his time this week. First, he went with Tom and I up to CompUSA on Sunday just so he could help me pick out a good router (and he naturally helped another customer while he was there). Jeri Lynn was making tons of cookies for Christmas and let Tom and I take several. And then, they dropped by this afternoon as I was getting ready for work, and Jeff spent a lot of time trying to get Tom's computer to work. When I left Tom was just getting home, he spent some time after getting off work looking for another job, doing interviews, and shopping. He really wants to find a different job I think. Anyway, no idea if Jeff got Tom's computer to work or not, I hope so. It's probably something minor or stupid that prevents it from loading except in safe mode. But the point is, very nice of both of them to take the time to help me and then Tom.
This way Mike has more time to sign Christmas cards. Or something. ^_^
I'm a little concerned that Tom may not get the performance out of his new computer that he expects. He thinks it's a good gaming computer, and to some extent it is, but while it's a PIII, it's only a 450mhz PIII. He's got an excellend video card, Geforce 4 ti 4200, but a game like EQ requires a massive amount of computing power. I know the game's not going to run on his machine anything like it does on my Athlon 1800, but I hope it runs well enough to not really inhibit his gameplay.
