Computer update

You know I often post these things as more of a warning to my tech friends than as general information.

So. Network is up. Broadband is working. All my computers more or less do what I want them to do.

Tom is a different matter. He has two computers, one of which he considers his gaming computer. It's in the computer room now. It's a PIII that He bought used, never used it himself before now. He put in a nice Geforce 4 ti 4200 card, and installed the drivers, but it's not working properly except in safe mode, so he wants me to solve the problem.

Well, he's running Win 2k here, so I got no clue.

So I gave him Mike and Jeff's phone numbers. ^_^ Gomen nasai!

At least he has the win 2k disc. Well, a copy of one anyway.

Or maybe Fiji. Yeah, Fiji. As long as we're declaring what countries we are, I think I'll pick a nice tropical island paradise. Or tourist trap, whatever.

I really don't have anything interesting to say. All I've done so far this week is work, sleep, and play EQ. I'd tell you about how much fun I had killing hill giants with Braedon last night, but I might fall asleep halfway through the tale from boredom. Kind of like Rimmer's great stories of his conquests in Risk.

In other news, my insurance company is almost ready to start thinking about maybe suggesting that just possibly Saturn could perhaps begin to make some repairs, although they really don't want to rush into anything. And I get to pay for a bunch of stuff that probably needs fixed but that my insurance company knows is not related to the theft. About $500 worth, including back brakes, half cost of front brakes, new fan belt, engine flush and oil change, I forget what else.
