Writing Update

I haven't written on my "Bitted Throug" story since at least last Wednesday. But yesterday I pulled up another story and started working on it. This one doesn't have a title, but it's my third Willamina story that involves Ursa and Sahvet... in fact it's the story that Sky created Sahvet for. I've added/completed several more scenes and I think it's going well; it's more than half finished, and I seem to be able to write on it more easily than the Vashti story for some reason. I have a much clearer idea of how it's supposed to go.

I made cous cous in my rice steamer Saturday. That worked well, but the results were kind of bland, so I went to the store and got some tomatos, black olives, celery, cucumber, and green onions. I added all that, along with some olive oil and red wine vinegar. That was much better.

I based part of that on a salsa recipe I had. I decided to stop by the store on the way to the Tai-Pan meeting and buy what I neded to make that salsa. I almost forgot to buy chips! This is a simple recipe that I got from Cynthia at work, it's called salsa but it's almost more like a salad:

1 can black beans, drained & rinsed
1 can corn, rinsed
1 onion, diced
2 tomatoes, diced (or 3 roma tomatos ^_^ )
2 avacados, diced

Dressing:

1/8 tsp tabasco
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 tsp salt

Very simple to make, really, and has a lighter feel than normal salsa.

Sunday I ate the rest of my salsa. I made some red beans and rice from a package for dinner. I watched the Hawks loose. (BTW, yay for the Marlins!) I watched my Inu-Yasha and His & Her Circumstances dvds. I read several short stories from "The Chick is in the Mail"... about half of them. And I worked on my own story.

That was about it.
