1. What food do you like that most people hate?Hmmmmm... hard to say. When I was growing up, my sisters would never touch lima beans, but I'd eat any and all types of beans. None of them bothered me.
I like a lot of very spicy foods but that's not really unusual.
2. What food do you hate that most people love?I've never liked sweet potatos. My sisters love them.
I'm not much of a fan of carrot cake, which a lot of people at work love. I can eat it, but it doesn't strike me as great tasting, or even that good tasting.
Although I don't hate caramel and that sort of thing, candies that are primarily caramel don't greatly appeal to me. Chocolate appeals to me a lot, but things like Werther's Chocolates that are mostly caramel or that you have to chew forever or just suck on because you can't bite into them... no thanks.
3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you? This is the question that
genebreshears didn't like, and I don't like it either. I'm just not the sort of person who follows movie stars or the rich and famous to any degree, so the question brings no answer to mind. Gene changed it into a question about authors... if I were to change it to a question about music, ie "What famous musician, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?" then maybe I can think of an answer.
Let's just say Garth Brooks. I'm not a big fan of modern country anyway, but I can tolerate some of it. Garth just especially strikes me as a phony idiot. Although I'm sure I could think of a lot more if I put my mind to it.
4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find
attractive?Again, not a very good question. Gene turned it into a question about guilty pleasures in entertainment. So, let's see...
I used to listen to a lot of "Christian Rock". I still follow several very good groups... Ressurection Band, Daniel Amos (Terry Taylor), The Choir, bands like the Galactic Cowboys and Collective Soul who do not even claim to be "Christian Rock" bands. These are all very talented groups that I don't mind sharing with anyone.
But I still sometimes listen to older stuff I own that I know is pretty inferior musically or lyrically. Metal mostly. Stuff that most people have probably never heard of... Armageddon, for an example. Neon Cross. Zion. Xalt.
Barnabas is still one of my favorite bands. Lyrically they were pretty solid. Musically, they were often ambitious but not always talented enough to pull everything off that they attempted, or at other times it was just the production that really held them down.
5. What popular trend baffles you? Many popular trends baffle me. Reality tv baffles me. Actually most television baffles me. Current McDonald's commercials baffle me. Pretty much all of politics baffle me... for example, why can't we find a decent person to vote for? For President I mean. I don't want to vote for Bush and I don't want to vote for Howard Dean. I didn't want to vote for Gore. I like to consider myself a moderate Republican, I don't identify with most modern Republicans. But I don't identify with most Democrats either.
I don't really believe that our country would be that much better off if Gore were president. I would have liked to have voted for McCain, but I'll probably never be given that option. Imagine how different things might be today if McCain had been President for the last three years.
In a way I can fully understand why Californians voted Ah-nold into office, even though I also want to make fun of it. ^_^
Bill O'Rielly. There's a popular trend that I don't understand. I mean, Right-wing commentary is full of people who are self-important and unwilling to see any side but their own, but O'Rielly goes beyond that... he's just a complete self-absorbed lying asshole... one who doesn't understand humor except the kind where you make fun of other people, one who can't admit to mistakes but lies easily... basically someone who I know I would deteste even if he was just my neighbor and not at all famous. But my parents watch him. A large segment of America watches him. I don't get that at all.
I don't watch Rush Limbaugh either, but at least I can see where part of what he's doing is entertainment.
