So I started yet another story this morning. For a long while I've been thinking about doing a stand-alone Oz book that I could submit to somebody for publication. There are several outfits that publish new Oz stories, although the one most likely to take a story from a new author would be Tails of the Cowardly Lion and Friends, which is a non-profit group that operates on a fan level similar to the Tai-Pan I suppose.

Anyway one of my ideas started to gel in my head and I had to write down as much of it as I could before I forgot it again. So my Oz novel is at least begun... may never be finished, of course.

I've also been writing on my other anime fanfiction Oz story. Quite a bit.

So... I was trying to decide whether my Oz book, should I complete it, should be submitted to the above group first, or if I should try for one of the more professional publishers. The ones I know are not big publishers but at least are for profit. But the odds that they'd look at an unsolicited manuscript or be interested in publishing something from someone they don't know are probably very slim.

So I visited the Tails of the Cowardly Lions and Friends web site again... and saw that two of their upcoming books are written by Phyllis Ann Karr and Lin Carter.

Yikes. I own books by these people. I'd been thinking of the Tails people as mostly a low-profile fan-based publishing group... but maybe their profile is higher than I realized. ^_^

Anyway I'll be lucky if I ever finish my Oz novel and even luckier if I can find anyone to publish it. ^_^
