I got up this morning, checked my computer, and realized that the Seahawks game was 50 seconds from ending, with them in the lead. I turned on the television to see if they were about to cough up the game. Well... they almost did, but somehow failed to lose. Not the sort of thing to inspire you with confidence.

Then I watched some other game for a while, and then I logged onto City of Heroes and got sucked into a Terra Volta repec mission. Which was cool because I hadn't done that before.

Later I read some short stories out of a book called Weird Shakespeare. Then I fixed dinner and watched television. Then I played more City of Heroes.

As you might guess, I got very little accomplished in the way of shopping. Which is okay because even if I'd tried to shop, I have no idea what to get the people left on my list. What does Chuck want? What does Mike (either one) want? What does Julie or Juli want?

I got no idea. But I complained to Tom, and he suggested beef logs. When I got further in depth, he suggested a book for Mike M. He said it was about $25.00, and asked if that was in my price range. I said it could be. But the book is quite a bit more expensive than Tom suggested, and anyway I don't have time to order it from anyone even if it weren't out of my price range. But I looked through Tom's copy, and it's certainly a cool book. It's called TECHNIQUES OF MEDIEVAL ARMOUR REPRODUCTION: THE 14TH CENTURY.

Oh well. I forsee gift certificates in the futures of some of my friends. :p

I've had an Ian St. Ritz story in my head for a year or more. Sometimes I even have had parts of it written, but only in my head. It's a ghost story... it could even be a ghost story set during the holidays.

Anyway, I wrote about half of it last night, after failing to fall immediately to sleep. Obviously, I didn't get any more work done on it today, but maybe tomorrow. I had this wild idea that I would finish it up and THEN write the other ghost story that I was going to write, the one that popped into my head last writer's night, but of course, that's a much longer story and I'll be lucky to get this one little short Ian story written.

And I'm a little worried of repeating myself, since this will be the second Ian St. Ritz ghost story I've written. I think the only way to avoid the appearance of repetition is to write a third Ian St. Ritz ghost story in the future, so that I can say it's a trilogy and I planned it that way. Or something.
