Meh

Got up today. Got my printer working and made a badge showing my SL character. Reassembled my most recent mix cd with some new songs added. I was all ready to head down to Conifur, and then I started thinking. It was already mid afternoon... I was probably going to get there, have to register (I was preregistered but didn't get there in time to check in yesterday), and then what? I might have an hour or so at most to check out the dealer's den and the art show... not enough time to really explore both. And then they would close, and what else is there to do at this con? I saw the program schedule... not much. Last night I hung out with Mike and Gene and Jeff in a room and watched Mystery Men. As if I couldn't do that at any other time of the year. As if I needed to buy a con membership to do that.

So screw the con. Not all of my friends are there, I don't have a room to act as a home base, there isn't much to do when the dealer's room and art show aren't open. I don't really want to be there, it's not fun, and I wish I hadn't bought a membership last year. But I won't make that mistake again, I think.
