Dec. 20th, 2005 11:41 pmI would post about my life, but it was another of those go to work, come home things. Boooring! What can I say, life is a thrill a minute.
So here's a link to an online comic which is produced completely with dolls. Oops, I mean action figures... or plastic models, or something. (Oh no! Is this live journal a doll-free zone? I forget!) Anyway it's called Alien Loves Predator, and it's about an Alien and a Predator who decide to share an apartment in New York City. What more could you ask for?
I listened to The Darkness on the way to work. I still need to order The Mob online, because a band fronted by Reb Beach and Doug Pinnick apparently isn't important enough to merit being carried in actual stores. I also want to order a cd by a band called Gretchen, which is a kind of psuedo-Christian nu-metal goth-wanna-be heavier-than-Evanescense kind of band. I guess. (They call it "Heavy-Melodic-Happy-Gothic-Chic-Rock".)
I wouldn't really know anything about them except that I bought some books for Christmas for my sister at a Christian bookstore a couple of years ago (the one next door to my comic shop) and they told me I got a free cd from their freebie rack because of spending over $25 or something like that. So I grabbed a Gretchen 6-song demo promotional cd, purely because the cover looked the most interesting of what they had there. And then I listened to it once, and that was that.
Except that I thought of them recently, and on a whim decided to do a search on their name and see if they still existed or had accomplished anything with theirselves. And lo and behold, they have a pretty nice web site and a newer cd out, and I dunno, it didn't grab me at first but after listening to the songs on the web site several times I kinda got hooked on them. Now I gotta order their cd. :p
