Twenty Twenty Twenty-four Hours To Go
Dec. 24th, 2005 11:29 amI wanna be sedated!
Well! Last night I downloaded CDBurnerXP Pro per someone's annonymous suggestion in my livejournal. It didn't allow me to adjust the volumes of the tracks I was burning (or else I couldn't figure it out) but it otherwise worked fine. I was able to burn the two cds that my nephew wanted and also one for me to listen to on the way down -- a metal cd that contains some of the newer stuff I've acquired, such as Porcupine Tree, Velvet Revolver, Korpiklaani, King's X, The Darkness, and Demon Hunter.
(To bolster my gift to my nephew I stopped at Silver Platters last night and picked up DC Talk for him. Then I picked out the newest Demon Hunter and Porcupine Tree cds for myself. The cashier couldn't resist asking me "DC Talk and Demon Hunter?")
It's 11:29 and I'm almost done packing. I just got out of the shower. NPR's This American Life is playing on the radio -- their "new Christmas stories" show, which I heard part of last night at work and on the way home from work. Outside the computer-room window it's wet but not raining. The two grey squirrells are chasing each other through the carpet of brown leaves and up along the bare branches of the little tree up above. I often wonder what will become of them when they start to tear this place down and put in some large apartment complex.
Frolicking is a word tailor-made for squirrells, otters, and dolphins.
The house is quiet. Tom has left for his parent's. He did a lot of packing yesterday, and the apartment is starting to look a little empty.
I wrapped a few presents but I'll save what's left for after I get to my parent's place. I'm taking down the milkshake making machine (that I got at the white elephant gift exchange at work) because my nieces and nephews will think it's cool and maybe I can convince my sister to keep it. ^_^ I'm looking forward to the Seahawks game, but I think it starts at 1 pm, which will mean I'll have to drive through downtown game day traffic, and then I will only be able to listen to the first half at least while driving to Longview.
Anyway, I'd better get going. Have a Merry Christmas everybody! Or a Happy Holidays if you prefer! ^_^
