Feeling Frazzled
Jan. 25th, 2006 10:31 pmI keep feeling like I'm not getting enough done, even though I know I have a lot of stuff moved already and have Saturday to pack, and even after Sunday I have a few more days to move anything left over, if there *is* anything left over. But I'm starting to stress out from being in "move mode" for three weeks. Moving everything in one weekend is no fun, I know, but moving every day for more than two weeks is not really fun either. I just want to be done with moving. :p
Last night I didn't work hard at packing stuff. I goofed off on the computer, and when I got up the next day I was rushing around trying to fill a couple of tubs with stuff to toss into the car. I have a stack of boxes of books to move too, but I'm also at the stage where I'm moving things that don't get boxed -- rolls of Christmas wrap, portable b&w tv, stereo speakers, spare computers and monitors, that sort of thing.
Anyway I was late for work, I was busy answering phones while trying to make my salad that consisted of things I grabbed from the fridge with 0% preparation, I spent WAAAAY too much time on the phone talking to Budget and then U-Haul, but the end result is that I got a U-Haul 14 foot trailer that is supposed to be available in Shoreline on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm, and which I will return later that night after they've closed most likely. Budget is not open Sunday, and wanted to charge me 3 days for picking up Saturday and returning Monday -- and even when I asked them to quote me on just Saturday, with the assumption that I could get people to help me move then instead of Sunday, it was still something like $126.00. U-Haul is $19.95 plus .79 cents a mile, and while I realize they're not telling me all of the extra fees up front, I don't think it will add up to $126.00.
So hopefully I'm set for moving the big stuff Sunday afternoon.
I still need to cancel my phone service, forward my mail, and... do something else that I'm forgetting at the moment. Oh, talk to the apt manager at my new place about rescheduling the internet service install.
