I read a lot of manga yesterday. Not only three of those I'd bought, but I went looking online for scanlations of other manga I've been following. One of those is called Kashimashii Girl Meets Girl, and I was able to find two new chapters that I hadn't read (which still don't resolve the big cliffhanger in which the main character is supposed to only have 30 days to live). I picked up a few new things -- Alive, No-Bra, Kamichu!, Magikano. Haven't read most of those yet. Also picked up a lot of chapters from later issues of Gacha Gacha, which is a manga that is also being published in English volumes that I've been picking up. Only the later episodes, they start a whole new story with different characters, and frankly the main character is a loser and a lecher who has, in 2+ volumes, rarely shown any redeeming qualities at all. Nor have they realy developed any of the other characters to any signifigant level... making it very hard to read because you don't really have any emotional attachment to the characters, and the main character continues to do things that he shouldn't, and so far hasn't had to pay for any of it. I keep waiting for it to get better, but I dunno, I might have to stop buying the published volumes it if doesn't.

It was hot. I sweated a lot. I felt like I should take a shower before going to bed, but I just went to bed and sweated some more. It's not really as if my apartment is all that hot... it's a basement apartment facing a shaded hill, it's got to be much worse on the third floor opposite me (and actually I've noticed they have their bedroom window covered in reflective tinfoil of some sort).

I got my WoW invite from [livejournal.com profile] skyoxford this morning. I was thinking I should wait until the weekend, because it's a 10 day free trial and that way I'd get two weekends as part of the deal. But the weekend following next I'll probably be in Longview anyway, so waiting wouldn't really accomplish anything. Maybe I'll install tonight and try it out, who knows. But you know, a lot of their designs I'm not too thrilled about, how the night elves look, how some of the other races look. Oh well.

I should've gotten up early so I could drive up to my credit union today, but that didn't happen. I went to Fry's yesterday. I actually stopped by [livejournal.com profile] julesong's and [livejournal.com profile] steingrim's house but their yard sale was over and their car wasn't there so I assumed they were out. I picked up the latest Kodacha! dvds, and that was it. I decided on not buying a microwave oven once again. I just don't know that I need one, I keep planning to buy one and then talking myself out of doing it.

Well, now I'm thoroughly annoyed. When I visited Les Schwab on Saturday, my right front tire had a nail in it that (I assume) was causing a slow leak. Not a fast leak, mind you -- I'd noticed it for a week or two, and then when I noticed the nail and was certain it was losing air, I eventually went to fill it up and discovered that it was still just above 30 psi (it's psi isn't it? whatever) so it had gone down from about 38, but it wasn't dangerously low, just enough to be noticeable.

After they "fixed" my tire on Saturday I drove out of the parking lot and I could tell the difference from when I'd driven in -- more air in the tire. But then later on the day I imagined that it was already handling more like it does when the tire isn't at full pressure. But that could be my imagination, right?

Well by this evening the tire was down to less than 20 psi. I had to fill it up again because it might well have been flat by morning. As far as I can tell, the Les Shwab guys only made my leak much worse. I almost wonder if they pulled the nail out and called it good.

The deal with Les Schwab is that they fix tires for free, for anyone, and then you feel guilty and are more likely to buy tires from them in the future. FAILING to fix my tire and making it worse and wasting my time is counter-productive -- now I'm more inclined to buy somewhere else, if it happens to be cheaper.
