Tonight's Shakespeare play was A Midsummer Night's Dream, with Kevin Kleine, Calista Flockhart, and I forget who else. Michelle Pfiefer. Christian Bale.
On the upside, the movie is visually quite beautiful, both the sets and the actors and actresses. It's also quite fun. As entertainment goes it's worth seeing. But as serious Shakespeare goes, it falls quite a bit short.
Light, fluffy, fun. Not a great interpretation of the original material. Ah well, I suppose I should track down a better film of this play.
This is one of those that I've actually owned for a very long time (several years). I'd been kind of afraid to watch it because the cover seemed cheesy and it was always on sale at places like Fred Meyers for under $10. But it has it's moments. Kleine is, of course, always entertaining. ^_^
