weird little skater video

Stolen from Nodwick as per usual. And for the people who don't have a fast internet connection, here's an odd and slightly painful picture of some x-man body piercing freak.

I saw my doctor again today. He told me what I already knew after seeing the blood test results. I'll tell you all the sad horrible news some other time.

I went out and bought an I-Pod, to celebrate the fact that I really need to exercise more and walking around is more pleasant if you have something to listen to. I was surprised that you can't buy a 20 or 30 gig I-Pod anymore unless you buy one that includes video, which I don't want or need. So after careful consideration I decided to go with the 4 gig black Nano, which has the advantage of being really small and will probably hold enough music to satisfy me. You know, I don't need to put my entire cd collection in a little hand-held object... I just think it would be cool if I could do that. And one day, I'll be able to.

It was a bitch to install, for reasons that mostly have to do with my stupid computer and stupid Windows, and the fact that Norton Antivirus decided that we absolutely had to install critical updates this freaking second, right in the middle of my install. Seriously I had to tell it "no" about a half dozen times before I finally got it to leave me alone. And I had to reboot my computer several times... once because it froze up after I plugged the Nano into the USB.

And then it started importing my entire 100+ gig music library into it's library... and I had to go to work. When I came home I found that it has paused to ask a burning question like "can I convert these wma files so they can be placed in the library?" and had paused only partway through the import process waiting for me to answer. Stupid program.

But now it's all set up. I think. I haven't tried to place any music on the thing yet or listen to it.

*EDIT* Okay, I couldn't get Itunes to recognize that my IPod was connected to the computer, and Apple's stupid help text was completely useless. "Just follow the easy instructions" of which there aren't any when the thing fails to work properly. So I tried to reboot... and now my computer simply won't boot. It gets halfway through the process and before the desktop appears, it shuts down and starts over. I've disconnected the IPod but that doesn't help... my main computer is apparently hosed, thanks to IPod.

So far this has proven to be a very expensive piece of crap.
