Quite a few of the comics that I read online have been missing their updates this Summer/Fall. Just to satisfy my own curiousity that I'm not imagining this, I did a quick study which reveals:
Elf Only Inn Supposed to update 3 times a week, roughly 12 times a month. Track record: June - 1 update. July - 0 updates. August - 2 updates. September - 4 updates.
The Wotch Again, intended to update 3 times a week, and usually had a 4th update on Sunday with a different storyline (possible 16 updates or so in a month). Track record: June - 14 updates. July - 9 updates. August -10 updates. Sept - 4 updates.
El Goonish Shive Currently claims to update 2 times a week, for 8 updates a month. Track record: June - 5 updates. July - 0 updates. August - 7 updates. September - 6 updates.
Other comics I read don't make it easy to know when their comics were posted, but Abstract Gender, which claims to post twice a week, has probably not managed a once a week schedule the last few months; Okashina Okashii which I believe claims a 3 times a week schedule has had one long hiatus and had been very erratic otherwise; Order of the Stick is 3 times a week and usually very faithful, but had problems in July/August, went on hiatus for a while, and (it seems to me anyway) has not maintained it schedule since returning from hiatus.
(We'll ignore comics that don't have an apparent schedule -- WTF Comics is updated a few times a month if we're lucky, Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki is lucky to update once every other month, and Hello Cthulhu still displays their Christmas comic on their front page.)
Anyway, no real point to this post, just that I look forward to my comics every day and this Summer and Fall I've run into more than the average amount of disappointment.
