Nov. 5th, 2007 09:14 pmNaNoWriMo: I'm at 7246 words. I think I'm supposed to be at 8,000 or so by now, but actually this isn't bad. I was further behind yesterday. Also, I just figured out one of the major characters for the story and wrote his intro scene, and he works really well. Once you get a character's personality down things start to flow, and I think I'm at that point, finally.
My full word count includes several partial scenes from further into the story that I won't get to for a little while, but I do have about eight scenes written from the begining of the story. I'm doing my best to write from page one forward, even though it's generally my style to write whatever scene occurs to me first, and then stitch things together as I go. I don't want to squash that impulse completely, because that's how I write my best scenes, by writing what's in my head first. It also helps me figure out where I want the story to go and how to get there. Anyway, my last scene was fun to write and I think upcoming scenes will be even more fun.
