1. Soul Meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie (4/14) #2 on my most played iTunes list with 82 plays, and still near the top of one of my music lists.
2. House of Heroes by Battlelore (5/20) #5 on my most played list, 71 plays.
3. Split Needles by the Shins (5/24) #21 on my most played list, 47 plays, still a great song.
4. When the Day is Short by Martha Wainwright (6/27) Of all the different Wainwright/Roche songs I featured in June, this is the one I've listened to most and am still listening to.
5. Feels Like Summer by Sing-Sing (7/17) Great song by a great band, but unfortuantely they're calling it quits now. I still need to get their first cd, which this song comes from.
6. The Leather-Winged Bat by Spider John Koerner (7/19) One of my favorite folk tune discoveries of the last year -- I've known about him for years but hadn't listenedto him. I still need to get the cd.
7. Tales from Heaven or Hell by Elis (8/15) This is my #1 most listened to song according to iTunes with 84 plays. From one of my favorite cds of the last year.
8. Moonchariot by Elvenking (9/12) #14 on my most played list. I still don't own this cd either, but this song has been in heavy rotation for me since I downloaded it last year.
9. Shut Your Eyes by Snow Patrol (9/23) I have to admit, I bought this cd months ago and I still haven't listened to it that much, but I love this song. I need to listen to the full cd more.
10. Teli Enik (Song of Winter) by Echo of Dalriada(10/9) #20 on my most played list, one of my all-time favorite folk metal discoveries.
11. The Hammer of Thor by Tyr (10/18) This song is #9 on my most played list with 60 plays, and that's just since October. I must like it. ^_^ This is another where I still don't own the cd, although I did order it from Ebay once. The guy lost the cd and refunded my money. :P
12. The Smoke by Amorphis (11/13) Amorphis is my new favorite band, and this was the first song of theirs that I downloaded. I've listened to it quite a bit.
13. What Drives the Weak (the War Within) by Shadows Fall Another song that's been in heavy rotation for me the last month and a half.

New cds that I have yet to listen to:

I've been really bad about this lately, and part of the problem is that I listen to music on my iPod or on iTunes on my computer, and rarely listen to cds (or even all the tracks from one cd on my iPod or iTunes). I've been collecting cds for months now that I haven't really listened to, or listened to only a couple of times:

1. Dragonforce - Sonic Firestorm
2. Trivium - Ascendency
3. Opeth - Ghost Reveries
4. Shadows Fall - Threads of Life

These first four cds arrived in the mail yesterday. These were part of the completion of my BMG Music Club deal, where after purchasing 1 cd at regular club prices (which I did back in early November), I could get four more cds for just shipping & handling. I picked out these four and paid about $11.00 total for them. I haven't even opened them yet -- although in the case of Opeth's Ghost Reveries, I've actually had the chance to listen to this cd extensively in the past, so I don't know if that one completely counts.

5. Adiastasia - Lifewar
6. GOlden Bough - Contemporary Songs ~ The Night Wind (2 cd set)

These two also arrived yesterday. I purchased them last week from Amazon. I actually only intended to purchase the Golden Bough cd, which is a collection of songs from their earlier first six relases (of which I own 4 1/2 I think on cd). It has a lot of songs I already own on cd, but a few that I don't, including The Toymaker/Last Day of the Year, a Christmas song that I wanted. When I went to purchase it the Adiastasia cd was sitting in my cart because I'd been thinking of getting it earlier (I often do that, and then place them in the "buy later" section of the cart -- sometimes stuff sits there for years.) Anyway the Adiastasia cd was cheap so I ordered both of them, even though I had sort of told myself to stop ordering new cds.

I listened to the Golden Bough cds today.

5. Deliverance - As Above, So Below
6. Gillian Welch - Soul Journey
7. Heaven's Metal Sampler of some kind
8. Boca - Best of College Acapella
9. The Roots of Chicha - Psychedelic Cumbias from Peru
10. Lambarena - Back to Africa
11. Firefly - Yule 2007
12. C.D. Woodbury - The Strange Tale of the Island Astray, or, a Reckoning of Relations

These are all cds that I got for Christmas. The first two I got from my sister and were ones I had said that I wanted. I listened to the Gillian Welch cd today -- I love her stuff. The sampler cd is something my sister also gave me; it looks like a freebie that probably came with the Delierance cd. The others I got from people at the Tai-Pan Christmas party -- one from Julie, one from C.D., one from Chuck, one from Sheryl, and... I forget who the other was from, maybe Edd and Amy? (I wrote it down but I'm too lazy to go check at the moment).

13. Amorphis - Silent Waters
14. Magica - Hereafter
15. Amorphis - Elegy
16. Amorphis - Eclipse
17. Amorphis - Tuonela
18. Immortal Souls - WIntereich
19. Shadows Fall - The War Within
20. Lumsk - Det Vilde Kor
21. Seraphim - The Equal Spirit
22. In Extremo - Weckt die Toten!
23. Dir En Grey - Withering to Death

These are all cds that I bought online during the month of December, when I was not supposed to be buying music for myself. :p Most of these I already had downloaded songs from that were on my iPod and I've been listening to. However, I've only listened to about half of these cds through since picking them up -- and for only a few, more than once or twice. I know I've listened to the Immortal Souls, the Magica, and the two newer Amorphis cds more than twice, but that's about it.

24. The Best of Susan Vega - A Retrospective
25. Tori Amos - Strange Little Girls
26. 12 Girls Band - Shanghai
27. Sarah McLachlan - WIntersong
28. Megadeth - The System Has Failed
29. Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
30. Dream Theater - Octavium
31. Living Colour - Collidoscope
32. Agolloch - Pale Folklore
33. Snow Patrol - Eys Open
34. As I Lay Dying - Shadows Are Security
35. The Crest - Vain City Chronicles
36. Rush - Test for Echo
37. Manowar - Fighting the World
38. November's Doom - The Novella Reservoir
39. Opeth - Damnation
40. My Dying Bride - The Dreadful Hours
41. Rufus Wainwright - Want One
42. Stroll on with the Yardbirds
43. Billboard Pop Memories - The 1930's
44. The Tiki Lounge
45. The Cole Porter Songbook

These are a bunch of the cds I picked up in November or mid to late October. The first eight were my initial cds from joining the BMG Music Club. The next four are some of the cds I ordered online during that time, and the last ten are ones I got at Half Price Books sometime in October or November (I think).

I've made an effort to listen to some of these by now -- in particular the Living Colour, Dream Theater, Megadeth, and The Crest. (I'm tempted to pick up the other cd by The Crest too). I've listened to some of the others through at least once, I suppose, but that's usually not enough to make an impression.

The worst part of my habit of buying cds that I don't listen to? I only just realized that I actually have a still-shrinkwrapped copy of Sarah McLaghlan's WIntersong, from my BMG purchases. I also picked it up at Silver Platters in December, and have been listening to it. :p It's a nice Christmas music cd, so I suppose I have a Christmas present already bought for someone for next year....

You might be saying to yourself, "Wow, you've actually picked up almost 50 cds since October?" And of course, that would not be an accurate statement. I've picked up 46 cds since October that I haven't listened to more than a couple of times so far. I have picked up other cds in that time that I've listened to quite extensively -- Edenbridge's Shine, Echo of Dalriada's Jegbonto, Cthonic's Seediq Bale, The Dreamside's Spin Moon Magic, Saraphim's Ai, Rauta's Handanmaa, Warrior Soul's Drugs, God, and the New Republic to name a few of them.

I really, really need to place a moratorium on my cd buying, and listen to some of this stuff. Mind you, I have quite a few dvds I need to watch, and a lot of books I need to read....

We won't even go into all of the music I've downloaded in that time, or the 20-30 cds I bought for a couple of bucks each from my boss back in... early October, I think?
