Today's Song: Freedom by Blood Stain Child

I've been listening to a lot of songs from 'melodic death metal' bands recently... bands like Wintersun, Dark Tranquility, Immortal Souls, Agalloch, In Flames, Kalmah. I only own cds by a few of them but I do like a lot of this stuff, which typically has a lot of melody in the music/guitarwork -- or maybe i'm just getting more used to the death metal vocal style.

One of the bands I've become interested in is Japan's Blood Stain Child. They are a melodic death metal band that mixes in a lot of trance music -- which sounds weird but it works pretty well. They also have a cross-dressing guitarist named Ryo and a lead singer that looks like a Japanese Jesus. What's not to like?

The song I've been listening to for the last couple of weeks is called Final Sky, but the video you find most easily on Youtube is for Freedom, which is actually a much better demonstration of their mix of melodic death metal and trance.
