Mar. 10th, 2008 05:21 pmI don't know what is wrong with my gaming computer, but it's still crashing. Intense graphics or lots of processor/memory use seems to crash it somehow. It did not do this before a week ago when my old video card fan died and I replaced it with a new card... I've since replaced it with a different card, but the problem hasn't gone away.
1. Maybe the motherboard was damaged when my old video card got hot?
2. Maybe it doesn't like Nvidia Geforce cards? I had an ATI card before... but it's an Nvidia chip MB.
3. I took out one stick of memory and then put it back in (was thinking of upgrading to more, but I have 2 gig already). I know I put it back in the same slot and it seems to be seated properly so I don't know how this could be related, but thought I'd mention that.
Anyway... it sucks to have a gaming computer that randomly shuts down. The entire computer just turns off, like that.
