Since my gaming computer was acting up last night, I tried to play Second Life on my main computer, but I had problems getting the headset/mic to work right. I keep getting a feedback echo on everything -- even other sounds that come out of the speakers. I don't know what's picking it up, because my microphone is turned down so low that I can barely hear myself. I played with it for an hour or two and never got it to work right.
I managed to catch Nara and Ali online this morning before I went to work. I hardly ever talk to them anymore, they're rarely on City of Heroes and I'm rarely on Second Life (at least until this last week) and they're typically on in the early morning hours when I'm asleep in any case.
I asked Nara about Norwescon -- he'd said he was going to come down, but we hadn't talked about it recently. He said he still needed to look into that. When I told him it was in two weeks he was surprised; he said he'd look into it today and let me know.
I spent most of the last three days playing Second Life instead of City of Heroes. What that really means is I did a lot of virtual shopping for ultra-cute gothic lolita and sweet lolita outfits for my character Mint Rainbow, and for ultra-cute accessories to match. I did most of this at the LicoLico Mall, which is full of incredibly talented Japanese creator-run stores who specialize in cute and lolita type stuff, mostly for very cheap prices.
