Apr. 13th, 2008 01:27 pmSo yesterday was such a nice day that I had planned to get my bike out and ride it. I walked on the Burke-Gillman trail Friday night and there were a lot of bikers, so it seemed like a good idea. But my cold still hadn't completely disappeared, so I didn't get such a good night's sleep, and then I spent the morning playing City of Villains before deciding I should get my act together if I was going to go out and do something.
Unfortunately, around this time my lack of quality sleep caught up to me and I felt extremely tired. I laid down on the couch to sleep.
After an hour or two I woke up and turned on the television. I watched some golf. I got myself a diet Dr. Pepper and drank a bit. I still had time to enact my plan, but I began to feel very queasy and sick to my stomach. I put the nearly full can of Dr. Pepper away. For the next 3 or so hours I didn't do much, but felt like I was going to vomit at some point... but I really hadn't eaten anything all day, and eventually by evening the feeling passed. So much for my big day of going out and enjoying the sunshine!
I played some more City of Villains and then logged into Second Life.
julesong was on, so I wound up hanging out with her for a very long time -- when she mentioned that Mike had dinner ready and she would be back later, I pointed out that it was already 1 AM. She had no idea. ^_^
So, that was my big evening. I had fun though. I talked to one of my online friends, Oak, and got his address. Back when I was writing "Fuzzy Ghost" I told him the whole plot and used him as a sounding board and he really liked it so I've been meaning to send him a copy of the just-published issue with that story in it. I found out that he'd just been married (in game that is) so a large part of what
julesong and I did last night was track down a pair of wedding gifts for him and his new bride.
This morning I had a weird dream, and I actually got up and spun it into a kind of odd short-short story. It's more or less complete, just needs some tweaking and polishing I think. By the time I was done I'm not sure if I really remember what the dream that sparked the idea was actually about, but that's okay. ^_^
The best thing is that my cold seems to be completely gone today.
