Calvin and Hobbes Bento lunch by Anna the Red. How could you possibly eat that?

Wired has a short gallery of her bentos but she has more on her own flicker pages (above).

I've been listening to NPR shows every day on my iPod and I keep jotting things down that I liked or sounded interesting or that I thought were good gift ideas. You know, you only think of all the cool gift ideas after Christmas. ^_^ Anyway some of the things I've jotted down:

NPR did a review/interview featuring The Beyman Brothers (featuring Christopher Guest). This is music that I think [livejournal.com profile] dolphinchatter would especially like.

This American Life mentioned that season 2 of their television show is coming out on DVD. This reminded me that season 1 would have been a good gift for a lot of my friends, and I should have put it on my own Christmas list. ^_^

I heard an NPR story on Unicomp keyboards. They make old-fashioned keyboards the way IBM used to make them, each with an individual spring. They make a lot of clickity clack noise when you type. Some people like that. Part of the story was how their business is suffering (like a lot are these days), and I had one of those sort of anxious moments where I thought what they made might be really cool for the right person (not sure who that would be) but they might not be available for much longer.

A PRI's To The Best of Our Knowlege story on loneliness played a portion of The Stanley Brothers -- Rank Strangers. I thought I might need to download that song. ^_^

All Things Considered yesterday also did an interview with Steve Martin concerning his banjo playing and his new bluegrass cd coming out. There was also a short interview with Louden Wainwright III about a song he wrote about the current economic crisis. I liked the music in both interviews. ^_^

Someone calls for a quote on a television and a motorcycle. this is new merchandise, not a move of used household goods. I'm wondering, why a television and a motorcycle together?

I gather the information for the quote...

Me And what is the weight?
Customer: The television is 750 lbs and the Motorcycle is 400 lbs.
Me: 750 lbs? Are you sure? A television? They don't usually weigh that much.
Customer: I can verify the commodity with the shipper, but it says right on the paperwork "A TV".
Me: ....
