Jul. 16th, 2009 08:35 amI used to eat at Arby's more often. I always figured their wrap sandwiches and their salads were more or less ok for my diet. But until recently I'd gone months without eating there. When I do go out to eat, I like to go to Sunny's Teriyaki for their chicken salad or to Taco Time or Taco Del Mar.
I think I'd been to Arby's once in the last two months to try out their new flatbread sandwich. In the meantime, they got rid of their wrap sandwiches and got rid of my favorite salad. :/ Even two weeks ago when I realized they were doing freebie sandwiches on Wednesday, I went to Sunny Teriyaki instead.
On Monday 7/6, before returning from Longview I ate at Arby's with my parents. Then on Wednesday they sent me an e-mail coupon. For some reason they've had my work e-mail for a while, although I swear I didn't give it to them. Anyway, the coupon was for a free sandwich with a drink. They have new fruit ice teas and there are two diet flavors, so that sounded good. On Friday I got a diet raspberry ice tea and the free sandwich.
They gave me a $1 off coupon for donating a dollar to a charity. That seemed like a good deal. There was also a thing on the back of the receipt where you could go to a web site and fill out a quick survey about where you bought your lunch, and you'd get a free sandwich. I did that too.
On Monday my boss had a similar coupon to the one I used on Friday. I used that and got another sandwich and a drink for $2. On Tuesday I used the free coupon and $1 coupon to get a sandwich and a drink for $1. Then on Wednesday they do their regular freebie deal, so I went back and got another sandwich and a drink for $2.
I like their diet ice teas. The sandwiches probably aren't on my diet so much, but a plain roast beef sandwich isn't too bad. It's small. Anyway. I've eaten there the last 4 work days and spent a total of $7.00 doing so.
Today I might actually have to pay real money for lunch though. I think I'll go to Sunny Teriyaki.
*edit* Oh, I remembered that I had a full punch card for Taco Del Mar. So lunch was $1.47. ^_^
