I'm prophetic -- and not in a good way.

A day after accidentally leaving my car unlocked and worrying that my checkbook might have been stolen, I too another walk after work -- an hour this time. I made sure to lock my car this time. When I got back, the passenger window had been smashed in. Stolen was my jacket, a canvas bag with about 10-15 cds in it as well as my electric razor, my old panasonic cd player that I've had for maybe 20 years, and my Tivoli iPal radio (which is worth about $220.00 new). Also stolen was my REI purse with my checkbook and 4 thumb drives. I always carried all of my thumb drives with me, so they're all stolen. There was no personal information on them though, just mp3's, pictures (mostly game screeshots) and copies of my story folders.

So the worst part was my checkbook, the iPal radio, and the smashed window. My bank has already changed my checking account, which is going to be a minor hassle. I filed a police report online with the Auburn police, and I called my insurance company. I called one local pawn shop and they said they gave a report of everything they took in every night to the police, so if the stuff on my police report turns up I should get it back. The odds are good that it's just a junkie or someone who wants some quick cash, I think.
