Just what every batchelor wants...

miko2...to be woken up on a weekend morning by a call from your parents saying, "We're just half an hour North of you and thought we'd drop by!"
Well, the worst part is that next time they'll know how to get here and may not give me a half-hour's warning. ^_^
Actually they were shopping so I've had about an hour and a half to do a quick clean-up and try to think of anything about my house that has not been "parent-proofed" yet. You know, you go through a mental checklist of what movies and books are lying around or likely to be seen on a tour of the house, that sort of thing. Please note that the nephew and niece are also with them, so I've got to kid-proof the house as much as possible in an hour or so too.
I'm glad I vacuumed a bit yesterday and straightened up before heading off to writer's night. ^_^
Oh, and I'm also glad that I have the gifts for my two nieces ready, I just had to box them up and wrap them but that's now taken care of. Uncle Mark is prepared!
Well... not that I had cards to go with the presents... but every kid knows, the present is what's important, the card is just extra...
