Jun. 6th, 2006 10:25 pmI think my favorite bit of "666" commentary that I heard today was on Marketplace, which noted that you could place bets on whether today would be the end of the world at a certain internet site, and over 200 people had done so. And if they're right, how will they collect?
"Is the world really coming to an end?"
"I'm afraid so."
"Well, isn'there anything we can do?"
"No, there isn't."
"I always thought you should lie down or put a bag over your head."
"If you like."
"Will that help?"
"No."
People come and go so quickly here,
What they want is not exactly clear,
Judas kisses falling onto virgin ears,
No one here gets out alive,
And the beast is slouching down Rodeo Drive
He's doing the monkey!
Here he comes!
He's doing the twist!
Here he comes!
He's dirty and funky!
Here he comes!
He goes round and round, and it goes like this!
