miko2Friday was very busy. I didn't get much of my normal work done. It was the last day of C's vacation, so I was looking forward to Monday when we'd have 3 people in the rate department again, and I'd be able to catch up on my work.
We had a server crash over the weekend. R didn't have network access for 1 1/2 hours in the early morning when she likes to get a lot of work done before the phones start ringing. When I got in, I didn't have network access either, so I could do nothing. All of the important people were in a long meeting all afternoon, so J came over and attempted to fix the problem, but he didn't know what he was doing. At one point I was using C's computer while he was at lunch, and I tried to enter a bill that customer service wanted done immediately, and J knocked a bunch of computers offline briefly -- which locked up the freight bill I'd been working on. There was no one to unlock it so I wasn't able to work on it for the rest of the afternoon.
Eventually they patched my computer to a different line (had to take one of the printers offline to do so). They had to fix JF's computer too... he comes in at 4 pm, but his wasn't working when he first got there.
So anyway I had no computer for about 4 hours and got none of my day work done. I was further behind.
Tuesday R decided to install the new server at noon. I don't know why, he always does these things in the middle of the day and thinks he can somehow get it all done in half an hour. Naturally the entire company was without net access for most of the afternoon. Customers got angry. I fell even further behind on my day work.
Today I'm hoping to catch up on all of that, now that the server problems are solved. But today they're also planning to take my desk away and give me a new one. That really shouldn't take more than a half hour or so, but we'll see....
