So far today has been a wasted day. I haven't written anything, I haven't taken my morning walk, I probably will miss most of the round robin. I feel like I have tons of stuff to do and I'm accomplishing nothing.

One of the problems is that, after I'd finally gotten my music files backed up and iTunes updated (I won't even go into what a long arduous mess that all was -- complete with my computer deciding to update Norton Antivirus and reboot the whole computer right after I set up iTunes to import my music files into its library and went to bed)... after all of that I hooked up my iPod and iTunes told me that it was corrupted, and needed to be reset. Now, it was working fine as far as playing music went and as far as recharging went... but if I wanted to be able to add or subtract music I needed to hit the reset button.

It took me well over 3 hours to pick through my music to fill that 4 gig machine the first time. I knew it would take an equal amount of time to do so again.

Well anyway, I spent the whole morning doing exactly that. This time I placed songs into a folder that's synched to the iPod so that if this problem happens again I won't have to go through this whole stupid process again.

Of course, I should have taken my hour walk before doing this... except that the entire reason that I have an iPod is to listen to on my morning walks.

Anyway I placed several pieces of electronic equipment up on Craig's List for free last night. Some guy called within ten minutes and was going to come get it all, but then decided that he didn't have enough gas.

I was expecting more calls this morning while I solved my iPod issues but I didn't get any. The only call I got was from my sister, who is at a conference for two days near Northgate and wanted to go to dinner. That sounds cool, I was planning on being up in Seattle anyway, but it means that even if I make it to the round robin I'll have to leave right away to meet my sister at 5 pm.

What I got instead of phone calls was a lot of stupid people replying by e-mail. I say stupid because people who write to ask if it's gone yet aren't going to get as timely a reply as if they'd just call, and people who write to say they can come by next Wednesday are going to be ignored because I want this stuff to disappear as quickly as possible, and people who write and give me a phone number and expect me to call them don't seem to understand that I'm giving this stuff away for free, and I'm not inclined to go to a lot of effort to accomplish that. For that matter, one of the e-mail idiots wanted me to bring the stuff to him because he didn't have transportation. Sorry Charley!

When I was finally done with my iPod and getting ready to head out on a long-overdue walk, someone finally called and said they were on their way over right now to pick up the mixer. Duh. Well, now I have to hang around the house some more... who knows if I'll get my walk in today at all? ^_^ Or maybe I can walk around the apartment for an hour...

Well the guy came and picked up the mixer and decided to take the other stuff too. Cool! That meant I could kill the ad and not worry about anyone else calling or coming over.

He gave me some story about setting up a stage in his basement to put electronic equipment on because it flooded, and somehow this tied into setting up a place for his kids to practice as a band, which he liked because he would know where his kids were instead of hanging with friends somewhere else doing drugs or something. Well, whatever, I'm sure the mixer is perfect for young kids to play with, it's really a toy from Radio Shack more than a serious piece of sound equipment. I mean it's a real mixing board but it was a very cheap one.

Anyway I got in my hour walk (well... 50 minutes anyway) and I have to hurry if I want to shower and meet my sister by 5 pm. I obviously won't be at the round robin but I should make it for writer's night later.

I feel much better about having accomplished some things today now! ^_^
