TEA

I remember now.

TEA

I went to the store tonight on my lunch break with four goals in mind. 1. Get dinner. 2. Get shampoo. 3. Get stamps. and 4. Get something else. Only by the time I got in line at the cash register I couldn't remember what #4 was, but I told myself, well at least I'll get 2 out of 3 things (dinner didn't really count as something to remember -- I was hungry, it was my lunch break, I'm not going to forget to pick up dinner).

And then of course I paid for my groceries and went back to work and only then did I remember about the stamps. I ALWAYS forget about the stamps!

When I got home tonight I sat on the couch again and read more of Wintersmith, and thought that I was maybe a little thirsty, and suddenly realized it was a perfect time to make some tea. Now, lately, I've been making tea fairly regularly. I make it to drink with my breakfast more often than not, and I've been making it to drink at work, sometimes two cups in an evening. And the reason why this is unusual is that, for many years, I've been more of a fan of tea in theory than in practice. Meaning, I have tea in the cupboard at home, I have tea in my drawer at work, but I would often go months without even thinking of making a cup of tea.

I don't know why that is. But once you get back in the habit of making tea, then you remember to do it more often. And so, I bought some new tea a couple of weeks ago, because I really didn't have a lot of tea left at work that was of a kind I especially liked that much. I bought some Stash double-spice chai tea. It was quite yummy. I took some of the teabags home so I could have some at home too, and left the rest at work. And I've been having tea so often at work, that I'm almost out. And, in fact, I'm slowly eating into my collection of teas at home as well.

So I've mostly been making tea in the morning when I make breakfast, or at work. I almost always forget that I can make tea in the evening too. But tonight I was reading my book, and it occured to me that tea would be a great thing to have on a cold evening while reading a book. So I got the kettle going and picked out a cup and a tea bag, and then I remembered.

TEA

That was my 4th thing I was going to get at the store! D'oh!
