Today's Song: New Slang by The Shins

I've mentioned Albequerue, New Mexico's the Shins several times -- they're the band that most closely reminds me of Death Cab For Cutie I think (and I've been listening to Death Cab's Plans and I like all of it!) -- but so far I haven't done a song of the day for them. Partly this is because I have a lot of songs of theirs that I like but nothing that stands out as obviously my all-time favorite track of theirs. Also, some of my true favorites such as Girl on a Wing or Turn A Square are not clearly their most popular songs, or even their best songs. ^_^

So, I let iTunes make the decision for me. New Slang from their first cd Oh Inverted World is their most popular download. It's a very nice example of what I like about them -- dreamy alternative pop with clever or interesting lyrics.
