Today's Song: Peace Tonight by The Indigo Girls

The Indigo Girls are, of course, an American folk rock duo from Atlanta, consisting of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, who complement each other almost perfectly. I've followed them for a long time, ever since their first major label release (which actually their second cd). Over the years some of their cds have been better than others, and I confess that I probably go back and listen to the older familiar material much more often than I listen to their new stuff. But one cd -- which is no longer new, since it came out in 1999, but is still one of their newer cds -- that I like a great deal is Come On Now Social. In particular I love the song Peace Tonight. I think it's one of their best songs, period.

You have to go pretty far into their site, but if you click on Discography and then on the cd Come On Now Social, you can hear clips from the cd including a short one of Peace Tonight... really no better than you'd hear on iTunes (actually worse -- the iTunes clip is longer and includes some of the chorus). It's not one of their newer cds and not one of their most popular and there's no video of this song on Youtube so I can't do much better than that. You'll just have to take my word for it that it's a great tune. ^_^
