Today's Song: Everyone Thinks I'm A Raincloud by Guided By Voices

I can't really claim to be a huge Guided by Voices/ fan. I own one cd of theirs, Universal Truths and Cycles, which I bought in Silver Platters several years ago after hearing the song Everywhere With Helicopter played in the store. I liked the cd but Everywhere was by far my favorite track, and remains one of my favorite indie rock tunes.

GBV was always an extremely prolific rock band, specializing in garage-pop and churning out several dozen cds and eps over a span of more than 15 years. I knew their reputation, but it wasn't until recently that I picked up anything else by them. I downloaded the song Everyone Thinks I'm A Raincloud based on a sampling of their most popular tracks, and I've been listening to it quite a bit the last few weeks. It's a very catchy pop tune with noisy low-fi guitars. I knew that the band that produced Everywhere and released so much music had other gems for me to find, and this is one of them.

I don't have a video to link to. Former band leader Robert Pollard has a myspace page with some music to listen to, though.
