Today's Guest Song of the Day: Sugar Storm by Amber G.
I didn't actually ask Keith to name a favorite song, but I know that since Norwescon he's been listening to Amber G. So I picked a song that wasn't her cover of Take On Me, a song I really have heard enough for several lifetimes already. Several people on iTunes said that they liked Sugar Storm, and so I bought it, was charged for it, and tried to download it about 15 times over the next 24 hours before I finally got a complete finished download. Apparently iTunes came out with a new update yesterday and their servers seem pretty clogged up at the moment.
It's funny to read the reviews of Amber G on iTunes. People say she doesn't have enough range, she needs to work on this or that, and they ask if she's Japanese. A lot of them say that her voice "sounds fake". Well, duh! Amber G is not a real person -- she's a computerized voice. Whatever range she has is exactly what the people who programmed her voice were aiming for.
Sugar Storm is nearly perfect anime-style pop -- the sort of thing you'd hear during the opening credits of some anime show. And the video I've linked to here is set to anime. Anyway, that's about all I have to say about it. ^_^
