Today's Song: I Can Make You A Man

This one is for typographer. I was checking to see what modern punk band Tsunami Bomb had on iTunes (their two full length cds, but not their earlier ep), and I ran across the fact that they'd done a song for a covers cd called The Rocky Horror Punk Rock Show. Which is precisely what it sounds like.

Tsunami Bomb does a cover of Planet, Schmanet, Janet. Even better, Me First and the Gimmee Gimmes do the opening song Science Fiction/Double Feature. But I also noticed that Pansy Division was there, doing a song that is particularly up their alley. Gene likes Pansy Division. Gene loves Rocky Horror. Ergo, I had to point this out. He may have already run across this cd, but if so he hasn't mentioned it to me because I don't think I'd ever heard of it before.

I have to admit that some of the reviewers think the Pansy Division cover is one of the worst tracks on the cd. Portions of the song are spoken rather than sung. I don't own any of these songs yet, although I'll probably pick up the cd at some point just because it sounds like fun. ^_^ So I'm not really offering you one of my favorite tracks here. I would guess that the opening track by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes might wind up being a favorite of mine, they're rarely off the mark.
