This is one of those bands I came across as a reccomendation by iTunes based on other music I was listening to. They're far from obscure though -- they've recieved a lot of acclaim lately, and their cd has gone triple platinum. They are a young Australian power trio with their roots firmly placed in early 70's guitar-based hard rock like that of Led Zeppelin. If you never liked Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, and that brand of rock, you'll not like these guys either. Some critics think they are too derivitive, but if you ask me, rock was never meant to be analyzed to any great extent. Do they rock? Yes, they rock.
