I wonder if I'm startng to burn out on this song of the day thing. I completely forgot to do a post for Sunday, so I'm backdating this one. I almost missed doing one for Saturday too.
Sunny Day Real Estate is a Seattle band that could be described as post-grunge; they appeared in the mid 1990's (their first cd came out in 1994) and they were very different from the grunge bands available at the time. They are often described as an important emo band, although I won't really get into what really qualifies as emo and what doesn't.
In any case, I picked up their first cd Diary when it came out because of the song Seven, and it remains one of their best tracks and in my opinion one of the best tracks by any band from the Northwest in the 1990's, and yes, that includes Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc. It's a great song, period.
